Children and teenagers who have not reached the age of 18 on the date the prescription is issued: CNS coverage takes the full nomenclature tariff, leaving no co-pay. In both cases it requires an Annexe E condition, a medical prescription issued before treatment starts and CNS validation; it is never automatic. Details on the dedicated CNS reimbursement page.

Good to know
  • A medical prescription is required to benefit from CNS coverage.
  • These consultations are strictly reserved for patients with recognised conditions (e.g. diabetes, obesity, bowel diseases…).

CNS fees are set under the official agreement and subject to the legal indexation in force in Luxembourg.

Calculation example: for a first consultation at the CNS rate of 108,79 € (code ZD11), the CNS covers 88% and the patient co-pay is 13,05 €.

What do the CNS codes mean?

  • ZD11 First consultation: full assessment and nutritional diagnosis (60 min).
  • ZD12 Design and delivery of your personalised nutrition plan (45 min).
  • ZD13 Follow-up session: adjustments and ongoing support (30 min).

With a prescription and where the official conditions are met, dietetic treatment may be covered by the CNS.

Coverage conditions

International insurance & reimbursement

Depending on your status, your consultation may fall under different schemes. We provide the documents needed for your reimbursement claim; the decision rests with your scheme or insurer.

RCAM / JSIS (EU officials)

Dietetic consultations for European Commission, CJEU and European Parliament staff. We provide a compliant detailed invoice to attach to your claim; coverage is decided by your scheme, under its own conditions.

Private & top-up insurance

You receive a detailed invoice (service, date, amount paid) and, on request, the supporting documents usually required by private and complementary insurers: Cigna, DKV Luxembourg, AXA, CMCM, Swiss Life, Bupa and others. Reimbursement depends on your policy and is decided by your insurer.

General terms

Payment on site
  • Fees are due immediately after the consultation.
  • Payment by bank card only.
  • Accepted cards: Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and V Pay; contactless and mobile wallets (Apple Pay, Google Pay) accepted.

Payment by bank card at the practice; you receive a detailed invoice for your reimbursement claim.

Missed appointment

An appointment that is not cancelled may be charged and is not reimbursed by the CNS.

Any unjustified no-show to a booked appointment may lead to a non-reimbursable fee (legal notice: missed appointment — Article 50 of the CNS convention).
