Prescription validation — 90 days

The validation request must be submitted to the CNS within 90 days of the prescription date. The prescribed acts must then be carried out within 12 months of that date.

One initial treatment per condition — 36 months

The CNS covers a single initial dietetic treatment per condition over a rolling 36-month period.

Direct billing — on request

Direct billing (tiers payant) is not automatic: it applies on request and once the coverage authorisation has been issued. Otherwise the patient pays and claims reimbursement from the CNS.

CNS acts — initial treatment and extension

Initial treatment

  • 1 × ZD11 — initial assessment
  • 1 × ZD12 — nutritional plan
  • 4 × ZD13 — follow-up consultations

Extension

  • 4 × ZD21

Generally one extension. Two extensions are possible for D09, D10 and D15.

Extension rules — alternative routes

A ZD21 extension prescription may be issued:

  • within 6 months of the 4th ZD13 consultation
  • or within 18 months of the initial prescription, provided ZD11, ZD12 and at least one ZD13 have been covered
  • or, for D09, D10 and D15, after the 4th ZD21 of the first extension

Without a prescription, a dietetic consultation remains available privately: it is then fully payable by the patient, outside the CNS nomenclature.

Your patients remain your patients. A final dietetic report is sent when treatment ends; interim updates are available on request.

Final dietetic report

Sent to the referring physician at the end of treatment: clinical progress, anthropometric markers, adherence and recommendations.

Interim coordination

On your request or if a relevant clinical event occurs, a progress note can be sent to adjust medical and dietetic management.
